Maintaining proper tire pressure is a critical aspect of your vehicle’s handling. Driving on either over or underinflated tires not only creates a potentially hazardous situation, but it also ends up costing you extra money.
Driving on tires that are overinflated reduces their ability to grip the road. It diminishes the tread’s effectiveness, and as a result, you could end up skidding, especially on a wet surface. The additional wear on the tires’ center also creates a need for replacement sooner than it should. The underinflated tire damages the outer edges and sides due to so much heat. The tire needs to work harder than necessary to make contact with the road.
