It's that time: time to get ready for winter! That doesn't only mean adding more sweatshirts and jackets to your closet. Nope, it means getting your vehicle ready for the coldest months of the year. Luckily, Calgary drivers aren't on their own because South Trail Kia is here to help! Here are a few things to think about:
Engine health: The cold makes existing engine issues worse, so engine health is vitally important going into the winter. Clean the dirt and debris from your engine by having an oil and filter change, and keep it healthy.
Battery strength: Likewise, cold temperatures will be the end for a weak battery. Have your battery tested to make sure it's strong enough to last the winter. If not, have it replaced.
Winter tires: Your tires make all the difference, because winter tires are specifically designed and engineered to perform on the cold and snowy roads. Have winter tires mounted onto your vehicle.
Emergency kit: You never know when trouble will hit on the winter roads, and that's why you should pack an emergency kit in your vehicle. Include road flares, reflective triangles, a flashlight, batteries, blankets, gloves, hats, a jacket, extra food and water, and a cell phone charger.
