2020 has been a great year for the Kia Telluride. Its dominating presence in the Kia line-up has translated into dominance in the marketplace and in the rankings. The Telluride has already racked up seven automotive awards this season in North America. Four of those awards are Canadian-based, while the others are U.S.-based.
In Canada, Kia has received the 2020 Design Innovation Award by ALG, the Best of the Best Award by the Canadian Automotive Jury, the Best 3-Row SUV for 2020 by the Auto Trader Awards, and the Best Large Utility Vehicle in Canada for 2020 by the Automobile Journalists Association of Canada (AJAC). These acclaimed awards recognize the Telluride's cutting-edge technology, adaptive handling, clever features, and modern design. In the U.S., the Kia Telluride swept the top prizes, handily winning the 10Best by Car and Driver, the SUV of the Year by MotorTrend, and the 2020 North American Utility Vehicle of the Year by the North American Car, Utility, and Truck of the Year (NACTOY) Awards.
The South Korean-based Kia has been a staple in Canada for over two decades and numbers almost 200 dealers across the country. To complete your adventures, the Telluride can tow up to 2,267 kg (5,000 lbs).
Seven different drive and terrain modes provide adaptive handling that allows you to meet any challenging condition head-on and with safety in mind. Smart, eco, sport, and comfort are the four different drive modes that pair with three terrain modes--snow, mud, and sand. These modes allow you to increase traction control and allow the Telluride to venture to places other SUVS cannot.
While the driving capability of the Telluride is impressive, its safety and technology features are out of this world. The vehicle includes a heads-up display that puts all important driving data straight onto your windshield, so you can monitor the vehicle's status without taking your eyes off the road. That is not a feature found on just any SUV. Other safety features include lane-follow assist, safe exit assist, forward collision avoidance assist, and rear cross-traffic collision avoidance assist, in addition to blind spot monitoring.
The Kia Telluride is a vehicle that is built to impress, and with so many awards, it seems to have done just that. If you are in the market for a large SUV and the Kia Telluride is not on your short list, then you haven't done your research.
