South Trail Kia

The Kia Optima has long stood out for bringing sportiness, style, and touch of luxury to the mid-size sedan segment. It's one of our favourites here at South Trail Kia in Calgary, and now we've got a preview of what the 2019 Kia Optima will look like when it arrives in our showroom later this year. Kia Motors brought the Kia Optima new look to the New York International Auto Show so we can see the Kia Optima Calgary drivers will be lining up to buy.
The 2019 Optima builds on the current model's sleek and sophisticated looks. Even some of the lower trim levels will receive enhancements such as projection beam fog lights, LED taillights, sporty side trim, a gloss black grille, dual exhaust and more. Redesigned 18-inch wheels will be standard on some trim levels, while even the base LX model will sport 16-inch alloy wheels, along with a matte gray grille and LED daytime running lights. A new Passion Red exterior paint choice will be available.
The Kia Optima brings a more than a hint of luxury to its mid-sized segment. For 2019, Kia is doubling down on the luxurious touches. Ambient interior lighting, a new sport steering wheel, two-tone sport seats, and a stunning bronze and black interior will be available on some models. Smart Cruise Control will now be standard on some trim levels, offering Stop-and-Go technology.
Kia is also restructuring its UVO telematics and infotainment system to make it even more user-friendly and capable than ever. The 2019 Optima will be the first model to receive the new UVO format. It features Apple CarPlay and Android Auto so you can make calls, exchange messages, and play music hands-free, using voice recognition. UVO also features remote start, remote locking and unlocking, and remote activation of lights and the horn for safety. The top-tier UVO system will include Navigation.
The 2019 Optima will include Kia's Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) as a standard feature across the entire Optima range. ADAS is designed to avoid collisions or to mitigate the severity of a collision if a crash is unavoidable. It includes Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist, which will automatically brake to reduce speed if it senses a potential collision. It also provides an audible warning along with visual alerts for the driver.
ADAS also includes Driver Attention Warning, which can monitor the driver and provide an alert if it senses that the driver's attention has wandered. The Optima's Lane Departure Warning alerts the driver if the car drifts out of its lane, and Lane Keep Assist can even automatically apply corrective steering to keep the Optima in its lane.
