Add Two More to the List! The 2018 Kia Soul and Sportage Earn IIHS Top Safety Pick Plus Ratings

The Sorento isn't the only 2018 Kia vehicle to earn the coveted Top Safety Pick Plus rating from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS). Nope, it's time to add two more to the list! The 2018 Kia Soul and 2018 Kia Sportage have also earned the highest safety rating available as IIHS Top Safety Pick Plus vehicles.

In order to earn the IIHS Top Safety Pick Plus designation, the Soul and Sportage were put through five crash tests, and evaluated in terms of front crash prevention and headlights. They both earned "good" crash test ratings, "advanced" or "superior" ratings in front crash prevention, and "acceptable" or "good" ratings for their available high-intensity discharge headlights.

In addition with their ability to protect you in the event of a crash, both vehicles actively help you prevent accidents all together. Using Autonomous Emergency Braking, they can detect if there's potential for a forward collision, and can automatically help you brake in order to avoid or lessen the impact. And the Blind Spot Detection System and Rear Cross Traffic Alert will let you know if surrounding vehicles are in spots you might not be able to see.
