2021 Kia Seltos vs 2021 Nissan Rogue

2021 Kia Seltos vs 2021 Nissan Rogue

Many automobile manufacturers showcase multiple SUVs in their model lineups because that is what drivers want. Kia already had a robust SUV lineup, but that did not stop the automaker from introducing the all-new Seltos to compete in the compact SUV class.

Kia has hit another homerun with the 2021 Seltos, offering drivers in Calgary another fantastic SUV. It offers many of the same features of the 2021 Nissan Rogue, but it bests it in nearly every category.

Seltos vs Rogue - Design

Kia based its new Seltos on the same platform as its cousin, the Hyundai Kona. However, it offers a taller ride and roomier cabin, as well as more aggressive styling. The exterior of the Seltos is all about sharp lines and angles while the interior is refined and built with high-quality materials.

Nissan redesigned its best-selling Rogue SUV for the 2021 model year, giving it a more powerful appearance with a boxer style and wider stance. A bi-level dashboard draws the eye in the Rogue; however, the redesign reduced the cargo space of the Rogue, which is a drawback.

Seltos vs Rogue - Performance

Kia offers two engines for the 2021 Seltos depending on trim level. The standard engine on lower trim levels is a 2.0-litre four-cylinder that delivers 146 horsepower while the engine featured on higher configurations is a 1.6-litre turbocharged four-cylinder that delivers 175 horsepower.

The 2021 Nissan Rogue is only available with one engine option, but it offers slightly more power than the Seltos. The Rogue comes with a 2.5-litre four-cylinder engine that produces 181 horsepower.

Seltos vs Rogue - Models and Price

The 2021 Kia Seltos is offered in five model configurations in Calgary and across Canada: LX FWD, LX, EX, EX Premium, and SX Turbo. Starting at $23,095, every model of the Seltos features heated front seats, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, a blind spot warning system, and rear cross traffic alert. Every model except the base LX FWD comes standard with all-wheel drive.

The 2021 Nissan Rogue starts at $28,498 and is available in five trim levels: S FWD, S AWD, SV FWD, SV AWD, and Platinum AWD. Every model of the Rogue includes a NissanConnect multimedia system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, Nissan Safety Shield 360, heated seats, heated steering wheel, and heated outside mirrors with LED turn signal indicators.
