Trims and Prices
There are five trims available for the 2023 Kia Soul: The LX (starting at $22,595), EX ($24,495), EX+ ($25,295), EX Premium ($27,195), and GT-Line Limited ($29,495).
Let’s take a closer look to see everything you need to know about the new lineup.
Performance and Driveability
The 2023 Soul uses the same engine for each trim, from the entry-level trim to the flagship 2023 Kia Soul GT-Line Limited. They all have a 2.0L engine with Dual Cam Variable Valve Timing (D-CVVT) and four valves per cylinder.
This engine also has Intelligent Variable Transmission (IVT) and a Multi-Point Injection (MPI) fuel system. It delivers a torque capacity of 132 lb.-ft and 147 hp. As for fuel efficiency, all trims give you 8.5L/100km in urban areas and 7.0L/100km on highways.
Interior and Exterior
Although compact, the new Kia Soul is still pretty spacious. Even basic trims, like the 2023 Kia Soul LX, have 973mm of headroom for the front seats and 1,003mm for the backseats. There’s also plenty of legroom for the front and rear seats, with 1,044mm and 985mm, respectively.
The Soul comfortably seats five passengers, with cloth upholstery for trims up to the 2023 Kia Soul EX Premium; the GT-Line Limited has leather upholstery. All trims have 60:40 foldable rear seats for expanded cargo capacity and heated front seats.
Trims from the 2023 Kia Soul EX and above have a heated, leather-wrapped steering wheel. The flagship model includes heated rear seats, air-cooled front seats, adjustable driver and passenger seats with the multidirectional option, and a D-shaped sports steering wheel.
All trims come with automatic halogen headlights, daytime running lights, and heated side view mirrors, which are also body-coloured. Trims from 2023 Kia Soul EX+ and above also come with a sunroof. Higher trims also replace halogen lights with LED lights.
Tech and Safety
The entire lineup has pretty much the same tech and safety features. All models have Bluetooth connectivity, mobile compatibility (for both Android Auto and Apple CarPlay), a six-speaker audio system, USB audio and charging input. Additionally, all models have remote keyless entry and a 10.67 cm LCD instrument cluster.
The flagship model comes with a Harman Kardon premium audio system. Upper trims also have a 26 cm touchscreen display with navigation tools, dual-zone climate control, ambient mood lighting, and an auto-dimming mirror.
All trims also have airbags, an anti-lock braking system (ABS), and electronic stability control. The Soul is packed with driving assists, which include driver attention alert, hill-assist control, blindspot monitoring, lane follow assist, tire monitoring, and a rearview camera. Upper trims also have obstacle-detecting front windows, and smart cruise control.
