2023 Kia Sorento Hybrid

If you love Kia’s SUVs, but want something a little more spacious than the Kia Soul, then come and see the 2023 Kia Sorento Hybrid. The new Sorento is a crossover SUV with a hybrid engine that delivers superb performance. This lineup has been rolling since 2002 but gained its hybrid version only in 2020. Performance and Driveability


The lineup has only one engine: a 1.6L Turbo four-cylinder with CVVT (Continuous Variable Valve Timing) and DOHC (Dual Overhead Cam). This engine delivers 227 hp, 258 lb-ft of torque, and a towing capacity of approximately 907kg. There’s also an electric motor (Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor) and a 270V AC lithium-ion polymer battery.

The carmaker recommends regular unleaded fuel for this engine, which has gasoline direct injection (GDI). Regarding fuel consumption, all trims can make 6.4L/100km in the city and 7.0L/100km on highways.

Interior and Exterior


The new Kia Sorento can seat up to six passengers with captain chairs. Seats are covered with cloth for entry-level trims, while upper models have leather seats, either synthetic or authentic. All models have heated front seats, a heated steering wheel, an illuminated vanity mirror, and deluxe pedals.

The flagship model has multi-directional adjustments for all passenger seats, air-cooled front seats, and a heated second row. Anyway, the interior space is the same for all models. Front seats have 1,024mm of headroom and 1,052mm of legroom, while backseats have 994mm and 1,024mm, respectively.

All trims have LED positioning lights, daytime running lights, and high-mount stop lamps. There’s also a side-view mirror with signal repeaters available for all models. There’s a panoramic sunroof for the PHEV EX+ and PHEV SX, as well as satin chrome grille garnish and beltline trim.

Tech and Safety


The new Sorento has upgraded its infotainment features and driving assists, making everybody’s journey safer and more comfortable. Entry-level trims come with a 20.32cm display audio, a 10.66cm Supervision LCD/TFT instrument cluster, Bluetooth connectivity, and mobile compatibility (Apple CarPlay and Android Auto). Basic trims now also have a trip computer, drive mode select, cruise control, and a six-speaker sound system.

The highest trims, PHEV EX+ and PHEV SX, have a 26cm display with integrated navigation, a 10.66cm Supervision LCD/TFT instrument cluster and Kia Connect. Additionally, it has a highway drive assist, a HomeLink system, and ASCC (Advanced Smart Cruise Control).

There are also many driving assists available for all models, such as electronic stability control (ESC), hill-assist control, and downhill brake control. The rearview camera and rear parking sensors are also available for all trims. Luxury options include around view monitor (AVM), blindspot collision avoidance assist, and forward collision-avoidance assist.
