Packed with a whole host of new features, the 2022 Forte is the bargain deal that you’ve been waiting for, offering more value for money. Kia has added many more standard features to all new Forte models.
What Has Changed?
The 2022 Kia Forte models have gotten a facelift to the rear and front bumpers, a new grille, new rim designs, and an upgraded lights package. This gives it a more sporty look reminiscent of the Stinger, while still retaining all the comfort quirks on the interior.There are many upgrades to the tech side of the driving experience in the Forte. All the models now come standard with a lane-departure assistance system. Also, the adaptive cruise control system comes as an optional feature and has received some upgrades. It now uses information from the navigation to adjust speed based on the speed limits in the area, and it anticipates the upcoming curves and slows the car down in these scenarios.
The Forte GT-Line and GT swap out the standard continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT) for a six-speed or a seven-speed dual-clutch manual transmission. It also comes with all the bells and whistles in terms of luxury, including ambient lighting, sports seats, and 18-inch rims.

Engine and Transmission
The Forte GT comes standard with a 1.6-litre four-cylinder engine that’s turbocharged and produces 201 horsepower. You can opt to upgrade to this engine on the other models as they come standard with a four-cylinder 2.0-litre engine that produces 147 horsepower and 132 lb-ft torque.You have a choice of three types of transmissions from the automatic CVT, which also has a manual shift option. There’s a six-speed and a seven-speed dual-clutch manual option.
Kia doesn’t comprise comfort with the added performance on any Forte models. Expect a comfortable and stable ride as you zip through the busy city streets.
Fuel Efficiency
The Forte is great on fuel efficiency. The 147 horsepower with the automatic transmission will give you 40 mpg on the highway and a combined fuel economy of 33 mpg.This drops to 30 mpg in the dual-clutch transmission version.
Interior and Connectivity
The Forte has ample rear seating space, which won’t have your passengers complaining during longer journeys, and there’s enough room in the trunk for all your bags.The Base and LX models are the only two that don’t come with a heated steering wheel. This comes standard from the Forte EX onwards.
The stylish interior comes with an eight-inch infotainment screen, and there’s an option to upgrade to a 10-inch screen in the GT-Line and GT models. All the models are fitted with Andriod Auto, Apple CarPlay, and Bluetooth. You can add a wireless smartphone charging pad, and all models come with a secondary four-inch colour display that you’ll find between the gauges.
Other optional amenities include heated and ventilated front seats and dual climate control.
