Kia Niro Named Green Utility Vehicle for 2018

The 2018 Vancouver International Auto Show proved to be an
exciting event for all who attended. It was an especially exciting day for
Kia Canada. In addition to finally being able to showcase their impressive new Kia Stinger, the
automobile manufacturing giant also walked away with the
2018 Canadian Green Utility Vehicle of the Year Award for their 2018
Kia Niro.

Kia Canada was proud to accept the award that was given o
them by The Automobile Journalist Association of Canada (AJAC). After receiving
the award, Vice President and COO of Kia Canada spoke on behalf of the company
and expressed his gratitude to the AJAC for thoroughly testing the
2018 Kia Niro and recognizing it as an environmentally friendly
vehicle.

The Kia Niro is a spacious and versatile hybrid
SUV. What gives it its high fuel-efficiency rating is the 1.5kWh lithium
battery that works in a partnership with a lightweight electric motor and a
1.6l GDI engine that delivers 195 pound-feet of torque. This innovative SUV
proves that a powerful vehicle doesn't have to be extremely harsh on the
environment.

Who are the AJAC?

The Automobile Journalist Association of Canada is a group of
elite journalist, photographers, and writers who specialize in the automotive
industry. They gather information on different aspects of automobiles and
report it to the public. Many Canadian consumers have turned to the AJAC to
help them make an informed decision when thinking about purchasing a new
vehicle.

What is the Green
Utility Vehicle of the Year Award?

The Green Utility Vehicle award follows that
guidelines that are defined in the AJAC's Canadian Car of the Year
Program. Every Utility Vehicle that participates is rigorously tested by the
AJAC experts. Each vehicle is then judged on the time it takes to recharge the
battery, the dynamics of the vehicle, and the overall value. During the
previous year, each vehicle is tested on roadways that stretch from coast to
coast.

The Vancouver International Auto Show 2018

The 98th annual Vancouver International Auto Show was held at
the Vancouver Convention Centre. This year, Kia Canada was accompanied by over
40 different vehicle manufactures stationed around the globe. It was an
honour for the Kia brand to be showcased among so many other prestigious
names in the automobile industry.

The 2018 Kia Niro is proof that Kia cares about its
customers as well as the planet. The designers of the 2018 Kia Niro wanted
to show the consumers of Canada that a powerful and luxurious vehicle can also
be Eco-friendly. It was an honour to be a part of such an exciting event that
celebrated various types of vehicles while also being recognized by such a
prestigious group as the Automobile Journalist Association of Canada.
